The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Zemen Bank agreed to strengthen their collaboration under the Green Financial Systems Technical Assistance Programme.
This collaborative project was officially launched in April 2024 and aims to strengthen the bank’s capacity in climate-related risks and green financing. EIB reaffirmed their continued commitment to supporting Zemen Bank in advancing sustainable finance and climate risk management.

As part of this initiative, Zemen Bank, with support from EIB, engaged DAI Global to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the bank’s gap against IFRS S2, climate risk analysis, transition plan development and green financing strategy among others, in addition to offering intensive ToTs on climate risk management and reporting.
A discussion was held in the presence of Sewale Abate Ayalew (PhD), Deputy Board Chairperson, Board members, Executive Management, representatives of the European Investment Bank, including Ms. Leyla Traore, Head of Representation for Ethiopia and the African Union at the European Investment Bank (EIB), as well as representatives from DAI Global.

In recognition of the successful partnership and collaboration, Zemen Bank presented certificates of appreciation to both the European Investment Bank and DAI Global.
