Earnings Per Share Reaches 53.9 Percent

Zemen Bank reported a strong financial performance for the 2025/26 fiscal year, recording Birr 9.97 billion in gross profit. The Bank’s total assets grew by 31.3 percent, reaching Birr 116 billion.

The Bank also announced that its paid-up capital reached Birr 14.3 billion, while its total capital increased to Birr 26 billion. Zemen Bank’s results rank among the strong performances recorded in the industry.

Opening the Bank’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, W/ro Enye Bimir, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Zemen Bank, said that the 2025/26 fiscal year had been a year of strong financial performance and sustained growth for the Bank.

She noted that the earnings generated for Zemen Bank shareholders remained strong, with the Bank’s Earnings Per Share (EPS) reaching 53.9 percent.

“These results demonstrate the Bank’s strong performance, the trust of our customers and shareholders, and the commitment of our employees. Going forward, we will build on our growth by focusing on innovation, customer-centric services and sustainable value creation, thereby strengthening our contribution to all stakeholders and to the Ethiopian economy,” she said.

Speaking at the Shareholders’ Meeting, Ato Dereje Zebene, Chief Executive Officer of Zemen Bank, highlighted the Bank’s achievements during the completed fiscal year. He stated that the Bank’s paid-up capital exceeded Birr 14 billion, while its total income reached Birr 17.9 billion and its net profit amounted to Birr 6.75 billion.

The CEO also expressed his appreciation to the Bank’s employees, customers and partners for their support and partnership, which contributed to the successful performance of the Bank during the fiscal year.
